Kinship groups give a sense of shared identity and descent. In modern times these families have an official structure recognized by the Court of the Lord Lyon, which regulates Scottish heraldry and coats of arms.

In the case that more than one application for a site is received with the same Scottish family name, we will only accept the first one received and paid for.
